The Eagle brand is new to me , sorry but I didnt take note of the
price , the card is made in China , and has a Core speed of 270mhz
and a memory speed of 400mhz , 64meg DDR ram and TV-out, speaking of memory its Samsung . ( ?
on speed ) . There is no active cooling on this graphics card , only
a heatsink on the GPU , and no ram sinks . With no active cooling on
this card I was very surprised when it did so well when overclocked
, this card could be a real sleeper , and with some well thought out
active cooling , this card could possibly do more than 7000 3Dmarks
( 3Dmark2001 ) . Enough of what it could do , lets see what it
actually did do :
System Specs :
Epox 8K3A , XP1600 @ 10.5 x 166FSB
= 1743mhz , Maxtor 40gig ATA133 7200rpm , Samsung 256mb PC2700 ,
C-media sound card , 50x CD-rom , 32x8x4 CD-RW , Win98se , direct X
8.1 .Nvidia 28.32 Det drivers.

Overclocking : I
wasnt expecting too much here due to the lack of active cooling ,
but as you will see this particular card is a reasonably good
overclocker . So with the stock clock settings being 270mhz for the
Core and 400mhz for the memory , Im going to start of with Overclocking
: Core to 290mhz Mem to 440mhz 6381
3Dmarks Core to
310mhz Mem to 460mhz 6520
3Dmarks Core
320mhz Mem 500mhz ( stopped test due to artifacts ) Core
320mhz Mem 490mhz 6735
3Dmarks Core
330mhz Mem 490mhz 6824
3Dmarks Core
340mhz Mem 490mhz Stopped
test due to artifacts . Wow
folks , thats a 20% + overclock from this Eagle GF4mx440 card with
no active cooling what so ever , I could see this card going over
7000 3Dmarks2001 , with some well thought out cooling mods . Conclusion
: This card
has been a rather surprising performer , I dont know what this card
costs , but it certainly has impressed me , its right up there
with other GF4mx440 cards , and it certainly shows potential for
even better overclocking possibilities than the 330 Core / 490 MEM
reached , if the owner adds some
active cooling to this card . Again I have no Idea what the retail
price on this card is , but if you find a EAGLE GF4mx440 on the
store shelf for a good price , go ahead and buy it as I have nothing
negative to say about this card , well except for the lack of active
cooling . I
would like to thank IT-Warehouse in Clayton for making this review
possible . Matt
