Its likely that most of you have never played the DOS based game Wolfenstein . For its time it was right up there with Duke Nukem , and Blake Stone . Return to Castle Wolfenstein is based on the old DOS game in name only , the foe remains the same , the dreaded Nazis . And the Super Evil genetically altered super soldiers etc, make a strong showing here along with supernatural beings whom kill all . Having used the Quake game engine to make Return to Castle Wolfenstein , the Realism and quality of game play are striking . Its been a long time since a game , had me up until 1.30am  in the morning , trying to get to the next level .

As with the original game , you are being held deep in the dungeons of Castle Wolfenstein , your mission , to escape . In fact this new version is a bit like a Mission Orientated Role Playing Game and Quake rolled into one , there are certain objectives you must meet , and lots of Enemy Soldiers in the way . One thing that you will notice is how mortal you are , and how realistic playing the game can be , and it will suck you in like a black hole , you will love it . If you even remotely liked Quake , or Unreal Tournament , you wont want to ever stop playing Return To Castle Wolfenstein . I don't think a better baby sitter has been made to date when it comes to action based games . 

Not only do you have to escape the Castle , and the many levels of game play , but when you think you are done, you take on new missions . Return to Castle Wolfenstein is not bound to just indoor game play , but actually takes you outside , through lush meadows and the harshness of  winter . 

I wont give any secrets away , but as you go through the game , you will be collecting weapons , and one thing to remember , chose the right weapon for the task at hand , it will make moving through the game much easier . This is one great game , and is rated G. ( 8 years and over ) Low Level Animated Violence . Personally I think that's a very generous rating, and for the lovers of Blasting The Shit out of anything that moves , just chose I'm Death Incarnate , for your skill level , and you will have action a plenty . I've personally  found the game challenging at , Bring It On , for you first timers you might want to try , Don't Hurt Me , until you get the hang of the game  . With monsters, supper soldiers , flame throwers , rocket propelled grenades , and miniguns to look forward to , Don't Hurt Me , could be the right skill level for you. 

I highly recommend Return to Castle Wolfenstein to all you Action Junkies  , its a high quality game with Days and Days of game play , It took me 4 hours to go through Quake 3 from start to finish . Return to Castle Wolfenstein is serious value for money , when it comes to time well spent playing computer games . If you , like me , have been taking a wait and see attitude to this game , don't , and I haven't even touched on the multiplayer aspect yet .    So if your into , playing online , or at Lan's , from what I've heard Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer is a lot of fun . I haven't personally tried it yet , but from what I understand its based on Axis vs Allies world war .  You can be on either side , and depending on how well you all work together , will determine your overall success . Well I give Return to Castle Wolfenstein 10 out of 10 , its the best game I've played since ? To think of it , it is the best game I've ever  played .
