When I first laid my eyes on these speakers I
thought , what I great idea , they would be perfect for a LAN Box .
As you can see the entire system fits in a 5.25inch drive bay . It
connects directly to the power supply and has a speaker cable and
rear bracket ( empty pci slot ) to feed the cable through so that it
can be fitted to your sound card . In the picture you can see the
Thor speaker pulled out about half way , fits in as snug as a bug . Features: 10W
built-in stereo music power amplifier Built-in
two High-Density Gauss Magnet Speakers Fits
exactly into 5.25" drive bays Angle
Adjustable 15"degree Left or Right Front
panel volume control and headphone jack Power
            indicator LED Mounting
bracket for speaker cable to audio card How
            it sounds: Have you
listened to a transistor radio recently , if you have then you know
how these speakers sound . Seriously , these are not 1000W stereo , surround
sound speakers that will rock your roof tiles lose , without a hint
of distortion . Actually I was able to run the volume rather high
without much distortion , playing quake , LOUD enough to annoy my
family , and some MP3's. I found the sound to be clear and crisp ,
you can not get away from the fact that these are small speakers and
the sound reflects that . Installing the Thor SP-100 speakers is as
easy as can be , remove the drive bay cover , install the unit ,
connect the power cable to your power supply , feed the audio cable
through the rear bracket and fit to your sound card , thats it ,
when you turn on your computer , the speakers are turned on , simple
            . Conclusion: If
you can live with the fact that these speakers sound like a
transistor radio , then you will be spared the burden of carting
speakers to your next LAN , the speakers are more than capable of
giving you enough volume to annoy the people around you if you chose
to do so , and produce a crisp and reasonable sound that most people
can live with . They can not compete with larger more powerful
speakers  , and were never intended for that purpose , they
were intended to be convenient and easy to use , and to provide the
user with reasonable sound . The Thor SP-100 speakers fulfill
there intended role well , and from what Ive seen so far , should do
the same for you as well .
